Thomas Dillard founded Dillard-Jones Builders in 2004 after a 20-year career in the corporate world. A degreed mechanical engineer, Thomas’ experience in commercial construction, project management and sales helped him to quickly become an award-winning homebuilder. The company won a Merit Award in the 2006 Pinnacle Awards, an annual contest sponsored by the Home Builders Association of South Carolina. That same year, Dillard-Jones Builders was selected by Southern Living to represent the Greenville area in its Custom Builder Program, and in 2009, Dillard-Jones Builders was named 2009 Southern Living Custom Builder Member of the Year. The first South Carolina homebuilder to receive this prestigious award, Dillard-Jones Builders is featured in the August 2009 issue of Southern Living magazine.

Thomas refers to his company as the ‘right-sized’ builder – large enough to have dedicated sub-contractor and vendor support yet small enough to ensure that he has a hands-on, working knowledge of each home under construction. The company also employs a full-time customer advocate who serves as a liaison between the client and craftsmen in the field. A professionally trained interior designer, Susan Peace-Vernon is available to assist clients with color and style selections, budgeting, and quality control.
